BLURRED PAST, PROMINENT PRESENT
An infographic memoir
One can learn a lot about themselves by observing and tracking their behavior over a period of time. By tracking my behavior over four weeks, I could see some of my tendencies, how they affected each other, where most of my time went and if the way I remember differs from my actuality. The purpose of this piece was to transform data into a visual that is clear and informative. I approach multi-layered information with this mindset; I look for ways to make it visual and easy to comprehend.
On the 29th of September 2013, I started an infographic journal of my daily activities. For two weeks, I took note of my activities as I went through my days. At the same time, I attempted to remember my activities from the two weeks prior to when I started my journal. Because the first two weeks are from memory, they are not very accurate so they are both blurry with the first week blurrier than the second. The charts at the bottom of the poster summarize the number of hours I spent on each activity and my emotion during each week.
